I didn't get another job that I applied for. I was told that I was the most qualified candidate on one side of the equation (my merchandising experience)... but it just felt like I wasn't a good match because of my technical background. That sounds like a BS reason to me. (I secretly suspect that my current boss sabotaged me by saying that I'd be bored with the job in 6 months. I know he said that but I don't know how much it hurt my chances.)
I'm pretty much done with my current employer. I keep making excuses as to why I'm still here... but the truth is that I'm scared of going out and looking for a new job with a new company and new responsibilities. On top of all of that, I'm really more scared about having to meet all new people. I'm not really good at getting to know new people. I'm pretty quiet, shy and reserved and I get nervous around new people...
All that said, however, I'm at the point where I can't go any farther up in the department I'm currently in and multiple attempts to move into IT or other departments (Advertising & Grocery Pricing) haven't been all that successful. I don't make enough money to keep driving 50 miles a day (with gas at $3/gallon) for my BS clerical job where I'm not really learning anything new. I'm bored completely. I don't have enough time to start any new projects that I'm actually interested in because I'm buried in boring tasks.
I'm going to start SERIOUSLY looking elsewhere. I've been keeping my eyes open for a little while now... but it's time to take it more seriously.
Wish me luck.

Sorry to hear you didn't get the job. I know how much you wanted a change of scenery. I hope you can find something else b/c I don't think things are ever going to get better there.
