Oh, Apple... Where did you go wrong?

I saw this headline today "Apple Backs Off Slightly on Aggressive Software Update Tactics" on Wired. Information Week is also running a similar story.

It seems that the Windows version of iTunes was pushing downloads of Safari to unsuspecting iTunes/Windows users as a "software update".

I can't believe that anyone in any software company would think this is a good idea, especially Apple, which I used to hold in high regard.

Apple, you were just knocked down another peg in my book...
